Last night we were coming home from the studio in a cab when we passed Rockefeller University. I started thinking about how Obama spoke there earlier this week, and how everyone was very upset about all of the traffic it caused. It's funny how chain reactions work because I then had a flash back to thinking about being 7 years old, sitting in my dad's truck, heading to McDonald's.
Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE McDonald's, but as a kid, it was always a magical experience! The McyD's in our town had one of those giant playgrounds, so until I was a certain height, it was like an indoor playground with chicken nuggets waiting on me! Who am I kidding, the double cheeseburger was my jam, but for some reason I always associate chicken nuggets with being a kid.
So anyways, one day we were on our driveway in his truck on our way to McDonald's and we were talking about the president for some reason. And I looked at him and said, "Dad, YOU should be president!" And in that moment I was dead set on the idea--that is until he responded, "but then I couldn't take you to McDonald's anymore!" Laughing. And that was the end of that idea for me. Nothing was going to take away our truck rides to McDonald's!
I love having little flashbacks like that to when I was a kid, and you really never know what is going to trigger it. Great memories, great childhood, great family.
Thanks Rockefeller U!
