Ice Skating at Rockefeller Center

Last night I crossed half of an item off of my bucket list--I went ice skating at Rockefeller Center!

Yes, yes, my bucket list very clearly states, "Ice skate at Rockefeller center when The Tree is up," but I don't care, this was incredible. Besides, now I have an excuse to go again after December 2nd!

There are so many things that look more magical in the movies than they are in real life, this wasn't one of them.

I used to think that to be able to skate here you had to wait hours to get in, which might be true once The Tree is up.  But what I didn't know, was that they sell tickets for certain times of day.  So we got there at 7:40 and bought tickets for 8:30.  Then in the meantime we went to the Top of the Rock, (a NYC must see, included in my New-York-It List)

So many people end up going up in the Empire State Building, which is great... BUT if you're in the Empire State Building, you can't SEE the Empire state building! When you are on the Top of the Rock you have the Empire State building directly to the South, and Central Park directly North.  It is breath taking, but then again isn't most of New York?
