When I got home I successfully moved my desk from my upstairs to my downstairs...it was...a challenge. But I simply embraced my inner wonder woman, and I did it! (Also if you haven't seen Wonder Woman STOP READING THIS AND GO SEE IT!)
Anyways.
After many fails and many pizza breaks, I finally got everything set up. This would have been a perfect time to go to sleep. That was midnight-ish?
Then I began to dive into creating a Spotify playlist which I rare to never do. My co-writer (and BFF, of course), Lydia Dall, and I decided to make each other Spotify playlists. Hers for me was going to contain new mainstream country music, and mine was going to contain the "weird shit I listen to." I got a little too into mine and it is now just a super weird mix of all of my favorite songs. Many songs, mind you, that I would be embarrassed to admit I LOVE. But I don't care. I love these songs. There it is, I said it! If you feel like seeing how weird/out there/basic I am, here's the playlist!
Anyways.
After playlist adding and editing, I ended up writing half of three songs for me as an artist. It's interesting being an "artist" and a "songwriter." It should be as simple as calling yourself a "singer/songwriter..." But what I write to be commercial/to pitch to other artists is usually different than what I write for myself. So during the days, I'm writing 1-3 songs for other artists and at night I have to make time to still write for myself haha.
Tonight was an incredible night but I'm so high on music that I still don't want to sleep! Hence - songwriter insomnia. But I should sleep. It's 2:47 am in Nashville and my first write is at 10:30am... oopsy.
Good night world of music lovers!
-HA
