Tip #39: Ask your friends!
A great way to find out what makes listeners connect to songs, is to ask the listeners! Talk to your friends about their favorite artists/songwriters and see what they like about the writing. Have them tell you which parts of each song they enjoy most to try to see the music from a new perspective. Do they like anything with a huge chorus? Do they want a story song? Do they want something with a great beat? Find out!
